Installation instructions
- Click on the link 'Download Photomatix Essentials 3.1' given above.
- Go to your Downloads folder.
- Double-click on the 'PhotomatixEssentials3.1' folder to open it.
- Move Photomatix Essentials (the file with the umbrella icon) to your Applications folder.

Note for Mac OS 10.4 users: Even though the requirements are Mac OS 10.5 or higher, Photomatix Essentials does run on Mac OS 10.4. It is just that Photomatix Essentials was not designed for 10.4 and the interface design does not look good when run on Tiger. Also, the contextual help describing the settings does not show on 10.4, but the description is still available in the manual (which can be invoked from the 'Help' menu).

Note for G5 users: An OS update including QuickTime 7.6.6 resulted in issues with loading the QTKit framework on PPC-based Macs for some reason. As Photomatix Essentials needs to load the QTKit framework at start-up, this issue makes Photomatix Essentials quit upon launching if you are running on a G5 and upgraded to QuickTime 7.6.6.
If this is your case, please download the special version of Photomatix Essentials that does not include the QTKit framework here:
Photomatix Essentials 3.0 without QTKit framework
Note that the video tutorial is not available in this special version, as it is this feature that needs the QTKit framework. However, you can access the video tutorial from the video page here.
